What Locals Say About Us..

The family of the late Keith NORRISM OAM would like to publicly thank and acknowledge Thompson’s Funerals & Monumental Services for the professional friendly, thoughtful and caring manner in which they planned, coordinated and family conducted the Funerals Service for our later father.

Leigh and Linda Thompson were compassionate, understanding and flexible while they worked tirelessly with many groups to bring about a very warm and comprehensive funeral service. The many groups included individual family members, the Coroner’s Office, the Anglican Church, Swan Care Group, the Returned Services League, the 2/16 Battalion Association, Karrakatta Cemetery, the florists, the mourners, and others.

From the time of our father’s passing, throughout the funeral planning and service and also during subsequent arrangements, nothing was to much trouble for them.

Kind Regards

Our lasting memory of mum will always be her looking the way we have always known her to be

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Leigh and Linda who went above and beyond in their support and compassion in helping arrange our mother’s funeral. As a family we have been in the position of utilising their services previously when our father passed away.

“They are exceptional and their professionalism is of the highest standard, no matter what our request was they were eager to assist and make it a reality. Their experience meant they understood what vision it was we had for our mother’s funeral and as such their assistance in options and ideas and their attention to detail meant we farewelled our mum in the most beautiful way.

“Whilst not everyone wishes to have a viewing we decided that we wanted to see mum privately one final time and say our last goodbye, we couldn’t believe just how amazing mum looked. The makeup and effort that went into presenting her was incredible our lasting memory of mum will always be her looking the way we have always known her to be.

“We had so many comments from funeral attendees as to just how beautiful and organised the funeral was and that for what is usually such a sad occasion, the felt mum went out in style shaking her tail feather.

“Arranging a funeral is emotional and can be extremely difficult however Leigh and Linda Thompson made the process hassle-free from the moment they were contacted, we felt like we were discussing the funeral arrangements with friends. Funerals can be expensive, how refreshing it was to deal with people who were up front and honest. They were in contact with us every step of the way and were available whenever we needed to discuss something. For this we will be forever grateful.”

Comforting and reassuring

“I wanted to express our gratitude on behalf of the family for your efforts and understanding last Saturday. To know that dad was fond of you both and to have you leading the service was both comforting and reassuring. Thanks for your patience as you allowed us to see dad off in a manner that was important to us.”

– Leanne Hall

Sensitive and appropriate

“I wish to thank Leigh and his wife (assistant) on behalf of my and my sister’s family for a highly professional, sensitive and appropriate service and dealings with us. Sensible and not sentimental would be the way my father Bob (Robert) would have wished for, and was very much appreciated by those attending. I wish you and your business all the best, and thank you.”

Who Relies on Us?

Who Relies on Thompson’s Funeral and Monumental Service plus what locals say…

More and more today, families are bringing new values, choices and opinions about how they want to honour their loved one. They are starting to think differently about the funeral industry. So you make the right comparative choice, here is a list of the types of people who rely on the professional and on trend ceremonies offered by Thompson’s Funeral and Monumental Services

Wheatbelt Farmers

Why? Because, being from the land, you want an authentic connection with a genuine, locally owned and operated Funeral Director.

And this is where Thompson’s comes to the fore. Everything from dealing with the same person from start to finish, to special burial arrangements and even having your ashes scattered over your property by air, Thompson’s is the natural choice.

Being a qualified pilot, owner Leigh Thompson, has experience in delivering unique goodbyes for anyone on the land who wants a practical, meaningful and appropriate farewell.

Town folk

Why? Because sometimes their last wish was for something a little different.

There are many ways to say goodbye and anyone who wants a unique experience finds the flexibility of Thompson’s refreshing.

A life well lived deserves an appropriate send-off. So whether you want a traditional church service, a more “out of the box” arrangement, or just about anything in between rest assured Leigh and Linda will take care of everything for you so the goodbye is one you remember for all the right reasons.

Perth locals with country roots

Why? Because sometimes you want to return to where it all started and want the personal touch offered by fellow country locals.

As anyone who’s lived in the country will tell you, life is different out there. Yes, sometimes you move away but it’s not uncommon for people born in the country, or who spend a significant portion of their lives away from the city, to want to come back “home”. And that’s where you appreciate good old fashioned service from people with similar values to you.

Anyone, city or country, who likes the personal touch

Why? Because you like the fact that you deal with one person from start to finish.

Saying goodbye is hard enough. No one wants to be shunted from one “on duty” funeral staff member to the next. So the individualised and personal approach of Thompson’s, where you deal from beginning to end with the same person relieves the stress and offers comfort in your time of need.

Thompson’s Monumental and Funeral Service owners Leigh and Linda are the ones you deal with. They’ll be there to answer your questions, guide your decisions and support you and your family. And yes, we offer the same “old fashioned” down to earth country-style service to families in Perth as well.

Anyone who wants a special goodbye

Why? Because sometimes their last wish was for something a little different.

As mentioned already, every goodbye is as unique as a person’s life so anyone with a special request seeks out Thompson’s. Whether ashes scattered by air across the block you’ve sweated your whole life in or ashes scattered in the Swan River or at sea, we respectfully accommodate everyone.

How a seaborne service works is a charter boat takes your loved one’s ashes out to a location (either in the Swan or the ocean), records the location where they are scattered and then transfers the location to a marine map and returns the map to us. We in turn give the map to you so you can see where the final goodbye is located.

Families Who Want a Special Audio Visual Tribute

Why? Because in the age of modern technology families often love to present a special memorial which includes photos, music and videos, so they turn to Leigh Thompson a qualified sound engineer.

Let’s face it, there’s nothing worse than putting in hours creating a moving tribute of someone’s life, only to have the technology fail on you. The day is difficult enough without the stress of “technology”. Leigh being a qualified Sound Engineer gives families who want an audio-visual tribute peace of mind that everything will go smoothly – so Thompson’s Funeral and Monumental Service is a natural choice.

These visual tributes can be played as a people enter and leave a service, as the feature of a service and even as a special keepsake so it’s important they are done right. Leigh will be there to advise every step of the way.
